Four stages of a typical project structure
Stage 1 – Information Gathering
This involves a measured survey and site assessment; a scale plan is produced to show the existing garden and site conditions.
Stage 2 – Sketch Designs
Ideas are presented in sketch form and developed in consultation with the client. Coloured visuals are prepared to illustrate the proposed design scheme.
Stage 3 – Final Design
To enable the client, a gardener or contractor to create a new garden, working drawings are produced. These show the layout, constructional details and planting scheme. A written specification shows plant species with details of structural and decorative elements.
Stage 4 – Supervision
To ensure that the finished garden mirrors the agreed design, work on site is monitored throughout construction and installation.
